8+ Best Coffee Shops in Spokane's Favorite Neighborhoods

I love exploring Spokane’s neighborhoods and finding the perfect coffee spot in each is one of the best ways to do it! You might catch me grabbing a latte between showings or refueling after a quick walk in one of Spokane's wonderful parks. Here’s my personal roundup of favorite coffee shops or cafés, each nestled in a distinct neighborhood of Spokane.

1. Indaba Coffee — Downtown, Kendall Yards & Garland

Indaba Coffee is one of Spokane's most prestigious and community-centered coffees shops.  It's the perfect stop whether you’re near downtown, Kendall Yard or Garland neighborhoods. Their Riverside location is a great downtown retreat near Riverfront Park—bright, welcoming, and hip. Their Monroe location is bright and airy with a cool, community vibe. And Kendall Yards, their original spot, is the most petite. With all locations you'll find  excellent, unique coffees & teas, thoughtful light breakfasts and a modern, hip aesthetic.

2. First Avenue Coffee — Downtown

Near the heart of downtown, First Avenue Coffee strives to be the community hub—warm, welcoming, and full of creative energy. It’s where Spokane’s coffee culture feels most alive. Originated by the owners of Roast House coffee, they take their brews seriously and offer some seriously intentional beverages and eats. Don't just take it from me, they are one of the Top 5 coffee shops in Spokane on Trip Advisor.

3. The Shop — Perry District

South Perry is one of my go-to neighborhoods when I need both great coffee and a cozy, community vibe. The Shop offers house-made pastries, gluten-free and vegan options, and locally roasted Anvil Coffee. It’s a beloved, no-nonsense South Perry gathering spot. It's the anchor location for the South Perry Market.

4. Little Garden Cafe — Downriver/Audubon

Just across from Audubon Park, Little Garden Cafe is a charming local favorite for breakfast and lunch. With family-friendly vibes and plenty of green space outside, it’s ideal for parents, neighbors, or clients looking for a relaxed, natural setting.

5. Ladder Coffee & Toast — Browne’s Addition, Emerson Garfield & Spokane Valley

Historic charm meets West Coast style at Ladder Coffee in Browne’s Addition. They roast on-site, serve creative drinks (ever try their Vanilla Rose or Brown Sugar Clove lattes?), and the light-filled spaces feels just right.

6. Rockwood Bakery — Manito

Just steps from Manito Park, Rockwood Bakery understands all that a neighborhood coffee shop and bakery should be. Housed in a historic grocery and butcher building, they have fresh pastries, sandwiches, quiche, espresso, treats and both indoor and outdoor seating. But, most importantly they have a wonderfully warm and inviting vibe.

7. Rocket Bakery — All Around Town

Rocket Bakery has multiple locations, including the Carnegie Square downtown, 14th and Cedar on the Lower South Hill, Argonne in Spokane Valley and more. If you're new to Spokane and looking for homes from the Valley to downtown, you’ll probably pass a Rocket. Their breakfast, brunch, sandwiches, coffee, and friendly energy never disappoint. Established in 1992, The Rocket Bakery was Spokane's community coffee shop before coffee shops were cool.

8. Maple Street Bistro — North Hill (North Spokane near Maple Street)

While Maple Street Bistro is better known for its bistro fare and baked goods, that's also what helps it make the cut for this list! Nestled in the North Hill neighborhood (adjacent to Downriver-Audubon) with charming vibes and truly delicious, comforting fare - it's a neat spot to grab coffee, breakfast or lunch.

To be honest, the list goes on an on in Spokane - we are lucky!  I still haven't listed some other great shops like Thomas Hammer, Revel 77, Atticus Coffee & Gifts, New Love and more. And, we haven't even gotten to TEA!  Here you are for the tea lovers...

Revival Tea Company

Prefer tea over coffee? Revival Tea Company is Spokane’s craft tea gem. Located downtown in a former speakeasy, this is where modern rituals meet bold flavor—you can explore over 60 blends, taste flights in their historic setting, or shop curated teas. It’s truly a unique experience!

Mandala Chai & Coffee – Spokane Valley

For something a little different, I love Mandala Chai & Spice Company who recently opened a drive-thru called SOVAL off Bowdish in the Spokane Valley. This is a Spokane-based gem that specializes in handcrafted chai. Their blends are rich, warming, and perfectly spiced—ideal for sipping on a crisp fall morning. You can find their products, as well as coffee and delicious eats at their new, hip drive-thru location!  It’s one of those small Spokane brands that makes our community feel unique and connected.
