Eagle Ridge: We Love This Hilltop Neighborhood Just 10-minutes From Downtown Spokane

Today I’m giving you the inside scoop on one of Spokane’s most beloved hillside communities; Eagle Ridge. If you’ve ever driven south along Highway 195 and noticed a quiet, tree-lined neighborhood nestled in the hills, that’s Eagle Ridge—and trust me, it’s more than just a pretty view.

Whether you're house-hunting or just curious about local neighborhoods, here’s what makes Eagle Ridge such a special place to call home.

Welcome to Eagle Ridge

Eagle Ridge is tucked into the Latah Valley, just 10 minutes from downtown Spokane. It's a master-planned community designed by Newland Communities with lifestyle in mind—think curving streets, an abundance of trees, and gorgeous homes.

But what really makes it stand out? The peace and quiet. You're surrounded by nature, yet never far from urban convenience. That balance is one of the reasons locals love it here. It’s also home to a strong sense of community, with events like summer movie nights in the park adding a hometown feel.

Quick highlights:

    • Schools: Eagle Ridge encompasses a large area and is served by Windsor Elementary, Westwood Middle School, and Cheney High School, as well as by the Spokane Public School District, depending on exact location.
    • Neighborhood Amenities: While primarily residential, Eagle Ridge has easy access to shopping and dining options in nearby Latah Valley - hello, Chaps! Nearby you can find the Spokane Rosarium as well as lots of options for boarding horses within close vicinity.  The neighborhood regularly hosts community events, fostering a strong sense of connection among residents.
    • Walkability: Designed with pedestrian-friendly paths and green spaces, Eagle Ridge is great for walking, jogging, and biking. However, most errands require a short drive to nearby shopping centers and downtown Spokane.
    • Average Housing: Homes in Eagle Ridge are primarily newer single-family residences with modern designs, open floor plans, and well-kept yards. The community’s HOA helps maintain the neighborhood’s high standards, making it a desirable location for homeowners seeking a well-planned suburban environment.
    • Outdoors: The neighborhood features miles of walking and biking trails, multiple parks, and playgrounds, making it ideal for outdoor enthusiasts and families. The Eagle Ridge Whispering Pines Park is a popular spot for recreation and relaxation. Nearby, residents can easily access the expansive trails and more golfing at High Drive Bluff Park or the Creek at Qualchan Golf Course, respectively.
